Tarn Taran, January 10: The Republic Day celebrations will be held with full enthusiasm and zeal at the Police Line ground in Tarn Taran on January 26, and preparations have already begun. Deputy Commissioner Mr. Rahul IAS chaired a meeting with officials from various departments regarding the Republic Day preparations. He instructed that this year, all freedom fighters and the families of war martyrs in the district should be honored.
He explained that during the Republic Day celebrations, after the national flag is hoisted by the chief guest, there will be a grand march past by Punjab Police personnel, Punjab Police women’s platoon, Punjab Home Guards, NCC cadets, and school students’ band teams. Following that, tableaux showcasing development will be presented. The Deputy Commissioner further mentioned that during the celebrations, students from schools and colleges will present remarkable programs focused on patriotism and Punjab’s culture. Additionally, individuals who have contributed significantly in various fields will also be specially honored.
The Deputy Commissioner urged the Municipal Council officials to decorate all the squares and main roads of the city on that day. He also directed the officials of various departments to ensure the attendance of all their staff related to the department on January 26.
On this occasion, additional Deputy Commissioner Mr. Rajdeep Singh Brar, SDM Mr. Arvinder Pal Singh, SP Mrs. Palvinder Kaur, additional Deputy Commissioner Mr. Sanjeev Kumar, and other officials were present.
