Punjab’s Zero-Tolerance Anti-Corruption Drive

Mann Government’s Anti-Corruption Drive: Zero Tolerance for Corruption in Punjab

Fighting Corruption – Helplines, Awareness, and Enforcement Strengthened

Since assuming office in March 2022, the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has launched an aggressive anti-corruption initiative to root out corruption across the state. A key feature of this effort is the establishment of the Anti-Corruption Helpline, which offers a safe and accessible means for citizens to report corruption without fear of retaliation.

The helpline, reachable at 9501 200 200, as well as a toll-free number 1800-1800-1000, empowers residents to report incidents of bribery and corruption by submitting audio or video evidence. The Punjab Government has ensured that all complaints will be kept confidential, creating a sense of security that encourages active citizen participation in eradicating corruption from the state.

This campaign has already yielded significant results, with 724 arrests made under the anti-corruption initiative since its launch. The Vigilance Bureau has played a vital role in apprehending corrupt officials, reinforcing the state’s commitment to ensuring that those guilty of corruption are swiftly brought to justice.

Beyond enforcement, the Punjab Government is actively working to raise public awareness about corruption prevention. Regular seminars and workshops are being held across the state to educate citizens on their rights and the steps they can take to fight corruption. These efforts aim to foster a culture of transparency and accountability, ensuring that corruption is consigned to the past.

The Anti-Corruption Helpline has proven to be a pivotal tool in the governance strategy of the Mann Government. By encouraging citizens to report corrupt activities, the government is steadfast in its mission to lead Punjab toward good governance, fairness, and justice for all.
