April 24 (Punjab Khabarnama) : Lok Sabha General Elections- 2024 are being closely monitored by the citizens through C-VIGIL mobile app. As soon as they get information about violation of the Model Code of Conduct, they send their complaints to the Election Commission. These complaints are resolved within 100 minutes. It is the result of the vigilance of citizens that till now 2423 complaints have been received in Haryana, out of which maximum 502 complaints have been received from Sirsa.
Chief Electoral Officer Shri Anurag Aggarwal said that it is a matter of pride that the common people are ensuring their participation in the system through “C-VIGIL” mobile app. He said that citizens are cooperating with the Commission as election observers in conducting the elections in a fair and transparent manner.
Giving district wise details, he said that 455 from Ambala district, 64 from Bhiwani, 264 from Faridabad, 71 from Fatehabad, 140 from Gurgaon, 164 from Hisar, 30 from Jhajjar, 50 from Jind, 54 from Kaithal, 22 from Karnal, 22 from Kurukshetra. 54 complaints have been received from Mahendragarh, 6 from Mewat, 69 from Palwal, 108 from Panchkula, 13 from Panipat, 28 from Rewari, 89 from Rohtak, 134 from Sonipat and 62 from Yamunanagar. Out of the total complaints, 2079 complaints were found true by the Returning Officers and Assistant Returning Officers and action was taken on them as per rules.
He appealed to the citizens to cooperate in making the elections fair, clean and transparent. This C-Vigil app can be downloaded from Google Play Store for Android phones and from App Store for iPhones. People can take photos or record a two-minute video and upload it on this app. That photo and video will be uploaded to the app along with the GPS location. The complaint will be resolved within 100 minutes of filing the complaint. He said that flying squads and static surveillance teams have live information on the C-Vigil app and the nearest teams will immediately reach the place from where the complaint is received.
