28 September 2026 Punjab Khabarnama Bureau : Signature Hospital in Gurugram has launched a comprehensive Liver Transplant and Hepatobiliary Sciences Programme, expanding access to advanced liver treatment and transplant services for patients in the Delhi-NCR region.
The programme is designed to provide treatment for patients suffering from advanced liver disease, acute liver failure, liver cancer and complex diseases affecting the bile ducts, gallbladder and pancreas.
Living and Deceased Donor Transplants
The new programme will offer both living-donor liver transplantation (LDLT) and deceased-donor liver transplantation (DDLT).
The unit will also provide paediatric liver transplantation and complex hepatobiliary surgeries, expanding the range of specialised services available under one programme.
Advanced Hepatobiliary Care
The programme covers treatment and surgical management of complex liver and biliary conditions.
Services include surgery for liver, bile-duct, gallbladder and pancreatic cancers, complex biliary reconstruction and procedures for portal hypertension.
Interventional and endoscopic services are also part of the programme.
Led by Specialist Team
The programme is being led by Dr Nagnathan Selvakumar, along with Dr Ravi Kumar and Dr Senthan.
The team will provide transplant evaluation, surgery and post-transplant management, including long-term follow-up and immunosuppression management.
Support for Paediatric Patients
One of the notable features of the programme is the availability of paediatric liver transplantation.
The hospital will also provide treatment for acute and acute-on-chronic liver failure, conditions that can require rapid assessment and specialised intervention.
Services Under One Programme
The new unit brings together transplant surgery, hepatobiliary surgery, interventional radiology and post-transplant care.
Reported services include TIPS, TACE, ablation, complex biliary reconstruction and nutritional support for transplant patients.
Strengthening Delhi-NCR Transplant Care
The launch adds another specialised liver-transplant facility to the Delhi-NCR healthcare ecosystem.
The programme is aimed at improving access to advanced treatment for patients who might otherwise need to travel to other major transplant centres.
