4 august 2024: Indian tennis player Rohan Bopanna and his Indonesian partner, Aldila Sutjiadi, have secured a spot in the mixed doubles semifinals at the US Open. They achieved this by defeating Australia’s Matthew Ebden and Czech Republic’s Barbora Krejčíková in a tough match. The eighth-seeded pair of Bopanna and Sutjiadi won the quarterfinal match, which lasted one hour and 33 minutes, with scores of 7-6(4), 2-6, 10-7 against the fourth-seeded team of Ebden and Krejčíková. Bopanna and Sutjiadi had previously defeated the second-seeded pair of John Peers and Katarina Siniaková. In the semifinals, they will face the American duo of Donald Young and Taylor Townsend. -PTI
