29 September 2026 Punjab Khabarnama Bureau  : Sneha Gharami, a BA second-year student at CT University in Ludhiana, has created a remarkable record at the Commonwealth Powerlifting Championship in Winnipeg, Canada, winning four gold medals and setting three championship records.

The competition was held from September 17 to 27, with Gharami competing in the junior 76-kg category.

Gold in All Three Lifts

Gharami dominated all three individual disciplines.

She won gold in the squat, bench press and deadlift, before adding the overall gold medal with a combined total of 500 kg.

Three New Championship Records

Her performance was notable not only for the four-gold haul but also for the consistency of her lifts.

Gharami recorded 190 kg in the squat, 120 kg in the bench press and 190 kg in the deadlift. Each of the three lifts earned her a new championship record in the junior 76-kg category.

International Achievement
