2 September 2026 Punjab Khabarnama Bureau : The US military said it has completed its latest wave of strikes against Iran, targeting facilities linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as fighting between Washington and Tehran intensifies.
US Central Command (CENTCOM) said the strikes targeted air-defence sites, radar systems, maritime assets, mine-laying capabilities and communications facilities. The latest operation marks another major escalation in the conflict.
US Targets IRGC Military Infrastructure
According to CENTCOM, American forces focused on military infrastructure that Washington says contributes to Iran’s ability to threaten US forces and commercial shipping.
The targets reportedly included Iranian air-defence and radar installations, maritime capabilities, facilities associated with mine-laying and communications infrastructure.
The US has repeatedly linked its military campaign to efforts to restrict Iran’s ability to threaten shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial route for global oil supplies.
