Jaishankar held high-level meetings with senior European Union (EU) leaders in Brussels, discussing the evolving security situation in West Asia, resilient global supply chains, and ways to deepen the India-EU strategic partnership.

The discussions focused on the impact of ongoing geopolitical tensions in West Asia on regional stability, global trade, and energy security. Both sides also reviewed cooperation in areas such as connectivity, economic resilience, technology, and investment.

Focus on West Asia Crisis

Jaishankar and EU leaders exchanged views on the latest developments in West Asia, emphasizing the importance of de-escalation, dialogue, and diplomatic efforts to restore peace and stability in the region.

They also discussed the implications of the conflict for international shipping routes, energy markets, and the global economy.

Strengthening Supply Chains

A key agenda item was enhancing the resilience of global supply chains amid geopolitical uncertainties. India and the EU explored opportunities to diversify supply networks, promote trusted partnerships, and reduce vulnerabilities in critical sectors such as semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, clean energy, and advanced manufacturing.
