Malerkotla, February 6 (Punjab Khabarnama Bureau): The Punjab Government’s Department of Administrative Reforms has made 9 service centers operational in the Malerkotla district to provide government services digitally under one roof. Over 430 services are being offered through these centers. Since the formation of the district, applications received through the portal at the service centers have been processed on time, ensuring minimal backlog, so that the public does not face any inconvenience. This information was shared by Assistant Commissioner Gurmeet Kumar Bansal during a meeting chaired to ensure the provision of citizen services in a convenient manner.
He explained that over the past year, a total of 63,916 applications for nearly 430 services were received at the 9 service centers, all of which were processed by the authorities/staff in a timely manner. Emphasizing his commitment to providing hassle-free citizen services through the service centers, he stated that only 127 applications remain pending, which is just 0.21% of the total.
He instructed the relevant departments to regularly monitor the pending cases and work towards achieving the target of zero pending cases. He asked that applications pending at the sub-division and district levels be reviewed regularly so that the backlog could be reduced to zero, and daily clarifications be sought from the departments with the highest number of pending applications.
On this occasion, he appreciated the officers and staff who resolved applications within the set time limits and directed the rest to work with full dedication to bring the pending cases to zero.
Also present on the occasion were Tehsildar Shishpal Singla, Tehsildar Praveen Kumar, District IT Manager Monica Singla, Assistant District IT Manager Narinder Sharma, Assistant District Manager of the service centers Pankaj Jain, Master Trainer Mandeep Kumar, along with other department officials.
