Chandigarh, January 9, 2025 (Punjab Khabarnama Bureau): Millions of people worldwide start their day with coffee, making it a popular morning beverage. While some prefer drinking coffee in the afternoon or evening, a recent study reveals that having coffee in the morning can improve heart health. Morning coffee is considered especially beneficial for the heart, according to research published in the European Heart Journal. The study also found that those who drink coffee in the morning may have a lower risk of dying from heart-related illnesses.
Scientists at Tulane University in the U.S. have found that drinking coffee in the morning can reduce the risk of death by 16% and heart disease-related deaths by 31%. However, people who drink coffee throughout the day showed no reduction in mortality risk compared to non-coffee drinkers.
The study analyzed data from 40,725 adults between 1999 and 2018. It also emphasized that the timing of coffee consumption is crucial, not just the amount. Drinking coffee in the afternoon or evening may disrupt circadian rhythm and hormone levels, potentially increasing heart-related risks.
Summary: Drinking coffee in the morning can reduce death risk by 16% and heart disease-related deaths by 31%. Timing matters; afternoon coffee may disrupt heart health.
