A youth from Dera Bassi was duped of Rs 2 lakh 45 thousand by showing him the dream of earning money from home in a group created on social media. The victim of the fraud has lodged a complaint against the fraudsters on the website of Cyber Crime Customer Care.
Giving information, the victim Ditya, a resident of Dera Bassi, said that he received a message from a website called Telegram regarding adding him to a group. It said that you are being added to a business group. In this group, he was sent information about earning lakhs of rupees. He also earned Rs 1017 from this.
After this other people also got caught in their trap. To withdraw the money he had earned, he was asked to create an account on the website and deposit money. When he deposited the money, the account balance would get reduced. Slowly he got caught in their clutches and he got Rs 13123 for the first time on November 8, Rs 15510 for the second time on November 9, Rs 66361 for the third time, Rs 1 lakh for the fourth time and Rs 50308 for the fifth time, but they transferred all the money to the accounts of fake businessmen.
