Amritsar, May 2 (Punjab Khabarnama) : A part of a series of SVEEP activities, daily wagers working in brick kilns stations were educated about their voting rights.In her address, District Program Officer Mrs. Hardeep Kaur said that every section of the society has an important role in the Lok Sabha elections and the contribution of the daily wagers is very important in nation building.
She said,“The daily wagers has contributed significantely in all general elections since independence and this time too there is a lot of enthusiasm for voting in this class.It is our moral duty to exercise our democratic right to vote without any fear, greed and prejudice.The District administration is accepting forms from all eligible voters for registration of new voters till May 4.Any eligible voter can apply a new vote through the online voter service portal or the voter helpline app.”
She said that the Election Commission of India has given the slogan ‘Ab Ki Baar Sattar Percent Paar’ this time, the figure of 70 percent voting can be achieved if all voters in Amritsar district took part in this process. On this occasion anganwadi supervisor Ravinder Kaur, Rajwant Kaur, Pooja, Rajwinder Kaur, Harwinder Kaur, Balwinder Kaur, Harjinder Kaur, Mamta and Gurpreet. Kaur was also present.
