Screening camps are being organized forDr. Harinder Sharma said that black cataract is one of the leading causes of permanent blindness in India. Symptoms of cataracts include unusual headaches or eye pain, frequent switching of reading glasses, colored circles around light, sudden onset of vision with pain and redness in the eyes, limited vision, etc. He said that if it is detected on time, treatment of black cataract is possible.The district nodal officer of this program Dr. Manohar Lal Assistant Civil Surgeon Barnala said that every person above 40 years of age should get their eye pressure checked once a year so that black cataracts can be identified and treated in time. .
