Fatehgarh Sahib, 08 February (Punjab khabarnama) : An orphanage will soon be constructed in the district to provide a safe place to needy and destitute children. This was revealed by Additional Deputy Commissioner (J) Mrs. Esha Singal while presiding over the meeting of the District Child Welfare and Protection Committee at the District Administrative Complex. To create a safe and comfortable environment for He appealed to the citizens of the district that if any family in the district wants to become a foster family, i.e. a family wants to nurture a child without adopting him and fulfill his education and basic needs, then the mobile number of the District Child Protection Officer. In the meeting, District Child Protection Officer Shri Harbhajan Singh said that the unit had received 268 cases of children who ran away from home, child marriage, child labour, missing children, neglected children, sexual exploitation, physical abuse in 2 years. He also informed that the unit is running a sponsorship and foster care scheme, which provides Rs 4000/- per month to orphans and needy children. The District Child Protection Unit periodically checks child begging and child labor at different places in the district. Keeping in mind the safety of school children, school buses are checked under the Safe School Vehicle Policy. The unit connects unaccompanied parents in the district with the child adoption process.
