9.51 crores will be spent 13685 acres area will get abundant canal water

(Punjab khabarnama) : Under the supervision of Water Resources Minister Chetan Singh Jora Majra, the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is continuing the renovation work of Azamwala Miner in Fazilka district on war footing.
Special efforts were initiated by the Punjab government to ensure that the farmers get full canal water up to the tails of the canals and to reduce the dependence on ground water so that the ground water which is going down day by day can be saved. Under this series, while renovating the canals by the Punjab government, they are being rebuilt with concrete so that there is no seepage of water on the way and the farmers get full water.
MLA of Balluana Mr. Amandeep Singh Goldi Musafir and MLA of Fazilka Mr. Narinder Pal Singh Savana said that the renovation work of Azamwala Miner is going on rapidly. Farmers of Chuhriwala Dhanna, Patrewala, Azamwala, Khippanwali, Ghallu, Jandwala Meera Sangla, Barek and Rupnagar villages will get abundant water from this miner. This canal supplies water for irrigation to the villages of Halka Baluana and Halka Fazilka. Both the MLAs said that with the completion of this canal, full water will be available till the tail and the farmers will get abundant yield of their crops. He also thanked Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann and Water Resources Minister S. Chetan Singh Jora Majra for the renovation of this canal.
On the other hand, Executive Engineer of Water Resources Department Sukhjit Singh said that 951.75 lakh rupees are being spent on the reconstruction of this canal and the total length of this canal is 13.41 km. With its construction, 13685 acres area will be able to get full canal water. This will increase the agricultural yield of the farmers and increase their income. He said that this work will be completed soon after which canal water will be given to the farmers.
