Patiala, February 3 (Punjab khabarnama): On the second and final day of the Patiala Heritage and Military Literature Festival, YPS here. Patiala State Force at Chowk and GOC of Black Elephant Division of Indian Army at Black Elephant War Memorial. Major General Puneet Ahuja, Chairman Military Literature Festival Association Lt. Gen (Retd.) T.S. Shergill, Lt. Gen (Retd.) Chetinder Singh, Maharaja Bhupinder Singh VC of Punjab State Sports University. Lt. Jan (Retd.) Dr. JS Cheema and Additional Deputy Commissioner Anupreeta Johal and others paid tribute to the martyrs by offering floral garlands.
After this, the Brave Heart Motorcycle Rally of about 150 different motorcycle riders gathered at the Polo Ground was organized by the GOC. It was flagged off by Major General Puneet Ahuja. This rally completed a circuit of about 26 km in Patiala city and ended at the place of military literature festival at Khalsa College, where the Minister of Health and Family Welfare of the state Dr. Balbir Singh honored the bikers participating in the motorcycle rally.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Anupreeta Johal said that the purpose of the Brave Heart Motorcycle Ride Rally organized by the Military Literature Festival Association, the Indian Army and the district administration is to pay tribute to the martyred soldiers in the 76-year history of the country’s independence. It is also to motivate the youth to join the army.
Brave Heart Motorcycle Rally was led by Colonel R.P.S. Brar did it. On this occasion, he said that Bajaj Avenger Club, Chandigarh under the leadership of group leader Imran has participated in the rally, while Nomads on Wheels led by Rajdeep Singh, PB led by Hassan. 11, Highways Riders led by Jeevan, Thumpers led by Munish and Patiala Bikers led by Purab participated.
Meanwhile, documentary films describing the passion, spirit and bravery of military history were also shown for the students in the Military Literature Festival. These included ‘Rakshak A Hind’, a film celebrating 100 years of the Sikh Regiment, Transformation of Indian Army, Submarines of Indian Navy, Siachen and Operation Meghdoot, Indian Army: Invisible But Effective and Kargil. On this occasion, the nodal officer of the fair, SDM Charanjit Singh, Tehsildar Larson Singla and other personalities were present.
