Punjab 20 June 2024 Punjab Khabarnama : As per the guidelines of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Punjab Police continued its action against drugs for the fourth consecutive day to stop the supply of drugs at the ‘point of sale’ (point of sale). Large-scale raids were conducted on 10 drug hotspots each in all 28 police districts.

This operation was conducted across the state at the same time from 11 am to 3 pm on the instructions of Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav. Special DGP Law and Order Arpit Shukla, who was personally monitoring the state-level crackdown, said the drug hotspots list prepared by the Punjab Police after detailed data analysis was submitted to all the district police chiefs in the state. He said that CPs/SSPs. was told that he would personally Monitor the operation and identify 10 major drug hotspots in their respective districts to ensure successful execution of the operation. He said that S. Police teams under the supervision of a P. rank officer were sent to cordon off and search such suspicious areas. He said that during the operation, the police searched the suspicious persons and the houses were also thoroughly searched with the help of sniffer dogs by the police force. Special DGP told that from 2500 More than 250 police teams with high strength of police personnel cordoned off and searched 280 drug hotspots. He told that during this action the police filed 31 FIRs. Registered and arrested 43 persons.
