15 September 2026 Punjab Khabarnama Bureau : European Union Ambassador-designate to India and Bhutan Jean-Eric Paquet paid obeisance at the Golden Temple in Amritsar during his first visit to the city, describing the experience as memorable and praising its serenity, food and vibrant atmosphere.

Paquet visited Sri Harmandir Sahib on Monday and took part in the traditional pilgrimage around the shrine.
With his head covered, the EU envoy circumambulated the Golden Temple complex before visiting the Sri Guru Ram Das Ji Langar Hall, where the community kitchen serves devotees irrespective of background.

After the visit, Paquet shared his impressions of Amritsar, describing it as an “amazing” first trip.
