April 19 (Punjab Khabarnama) : Ms. Ashika Jain, District Magistrate Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar in exercise of her powers under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Act No. 2 of 1974) to maintain law and order within the limits of District Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar. A total ban has been issued on climbing water tanks, tubewells, telephone towers, government/private buildings and holding dharnas/rallies around them, blocking roads etc. These orders will remain in force from 11 April 2024 to 10 June 2024.
It is worth mentioning here that Senior Captain of Police Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar brought to the notice of District Magistrate SAS Nagar that various employee unions, unemployed etc. Dharna demonstrations are carried out by climbing tanks, telephone towers and other government/private buildings and blocking roads etc. Concerned protestors also risk their lives and the law and order situation may also be disrupted. These orders have been issued to prevent such actions.
