Batala police busted a gang asking for ransom – two accused arrested

Batala, April 13 (Punjab Khabarnama) : SSP Batala Madam Ashwani Gotyal held a press conference at the police line and said that two accused have been arrested by the Batala police after busting a gang of extortionists.

SSP Batala said that on 12 April 2024 an application Jobanjit Singh son of Manjit Singh resident of village Jodha Nangal gave an application that his elder brother Prabhdeep Singh alias Bhim son of Manjit Singh dated 11 April 2024 Suresh Kumar son of Surjit Singh resident of Moharbanpur to visit Amritsar. So he went to district Batala but after that he did not return home, so after waiting for a long time, he called Suresh Kumar and asked about his brother, to which Suresh Kumar told him that he would be working here and we would find him. On which the applicant was searching for his brother along with Suresh Kumar who later came to know that two persons who came with his brother on 11th April 2024 namely Rajinder Singh resident of Gumtala Road Amritsar and Wasban Singh resident of Village Monia Kuhara Amritsar were rural abductors. and his brother has also been abducted along with them. In this regard Rajinder Singh’s wife Monika received a call from a foreign number regarding the ransom of 2 crore 50 lakhs that we will release the three kidnapped persons only if you fulfill the ransom demand. will do On which case number 30 dated 12.4.2024 crime 365,387,506,120-B Police Station City Batala was registered and investigation was carried out.

While investigating the facts of the case, Suresh Kumar’s intentions were found to be suspicious and during interrogation, after checking his phone in a technical way, some suspicious numbers were found and a raid was conducted at village Gajibharwan, district Pathankot, where the person who abducted the said three persons was arrested. It was identified that Bhushan Singh, son of Rakh Singh, a resident of Gajibharwan, District Pathankot, who was named in the case and arrested by the police party, from which the three abducted persons were safely released from his possession. Apart from this, the vehicle used at the time of the incident, Swift Dzire, was driven from that side. Monica, the wife of kidnapped Rajinder Singh, received a call from a foreign number regarding an extortion of 2 crore 50 lakhs, that number has been found to be Bhushan Singh’s son Bir Singh Umar Krib, 26 years old, who has been living abroad in Spain since two years. The three victims who were freed from the accused have been handed over to their heirs.
