If a child under the age of 18 is found driving, action will be taken against his parents

Bathinda, April 13 (Punjab Khabarnama) : Deputy Commissioner Jaspreet Singh said that in order to ensure the safety of life and property of children traveling in school buses, the officials of the concerned departments have been ordered to make it mandatory to check all the school buses in the district.

Deputy Commissioner S. Jaspreet Singh said that every school bus must have a fitness certificate. He said that the bus should not seat more children than its registered seating capacity. The speed governor in the bus should be in working condition. Drivers of buses must have a valid license. He also said that strict adherence to the Safe School Vehicle Scheme should also be ensured.

S. Jaspreet Singh said that if any child under the age of 18 is found driving a school vehicle, action will be taken against his parents. He also said that strict action will be taken as per the law against the concerned school and the bus owner if any violation of the said points is found in any school bus.
