7.50 lakh tonnes of wheat is expected to come to the markets in the district
95 procurement centers have been constructed
Fazilka, April 13 (Punjab Khabarnama) : Fazilka Deputy Commissioner Dr. Senu Duggal IAS started government procurement of wheat at the main market here today. On this occasion, he said that this time 7 and a half lakh metric tons of wheat is expected to come to the markets in the district and 95 purchase centers have been established in the district for its purchase.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the Bardana has been arranged for the purchase of wheat and storage arrangements are also in place. He said that this time the minimum support price of wheat is 2275.
On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner instructed the District Mandi Officer to always maintain adequate provision of cleanliness, shade and drinking water in the mandis. He said that the farmers should not face difficulties in the market and wheat lifting should be done properly as well as payment should be done on time as per the government rules. He said that action will be taken against any kind of slackness in wheat procurement. He also appealed to the farmers on this occasion to bring the dry crop to the market so that they do not face any problem in selling the crop.
On this occasion, District Food Supply Controller Himanshu Kukkar, District Mandi Officer Jasmeet Singh, DM Panasp Raman Goyal and officials of various procurement agencies were present.
On this occasion, the District Market Officer said that all arrangements for government procurement have been completed at all procurement centers in the district and the procurement agencies are also ready for procurement.
