Faridkot, 4 Aug 2025 (Punjab Khabarnama Bureau): The state-level Independence Day celebration on August 15, 2025, will be held at Nehru Stadium in Faridkot, where Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann will be the chief guest and will hoist the national flag. This information was shared by Deputy Commissioner Poonamdeep Kaur during a review meeting held to assess the ongoing preparations for the event.
While reviewing the preparations, the Deputy Commissioner instructed officials from all departments to perform their duties with honesty, dedication, and a sense of responsibility. She informed that during the ceremony, there will be a grand march past by Punjab Police, BSF, and NCC, along with cultural performances by school students, including patriotic songs and dances.
She added that on this day, alongside the celebrations of independence, tributes will be paid to the great martyrs and freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the country’s independence.
Various departments will also present thematic tableaux showcasing their developmental schemes and achievements. These will include themes like Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, pension schemes, crop diversification, horticulture, School of Eminence, School of Happiness, dairy, industries, MARKFED, police, MGNREGA, and sports.
On this occasion, outstanding officers, employees, students, sportspersons, teachers, freedom fighters, and other individuals will be honored with awards and recognition for their service and contributions.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner directed the police department to prepare a comprehensive plan for traffic management, parking, emergency services, ambulances, and medical facilities. Special traffic routes will be finalized, mobile police teams will be deployed, and dedicated parking zones will be set up for the convenience of the public.
Present at the meeting were SDM Faridkot Major Dr. Varun Kumar, Colonel Harjinder Singh from the army, SP Manvinder Bir Singh, DFSC Gurjeet Singh, DPO Rattandeep Kaur, Deputy Director Animal Husbandry Dr. Jaswinder Singh Mall, Pradeep Deora (Deputy District Education Officer – Secondary), District Sports Officer Baljinder Singh, DSSO Navin Garhwal, Secretary District Red Cross Society Mandeep Maunga, Jasbir Jassi, and officials and staff from various departments.
