Hoshiarpur 09 May 2025 (Punjab Khabarnama Bureau): A major development has emerged from Hoshiarpur. Fragments of a missile fired by Pakistan were found in an area near Hoshiarpur. This created an atmosphere of panic among the residents. It is worth noting that last night, Pakistan launched missiles targeting several areas including Jalandhar and Pathankot, which were intercepted and destroyed mid-air by India’s S-400 Sudarshan defense system. A blackout was also observed across parts of Punjab during the incident.
DC Ashika Jain urges people to stay cautious of rumors
A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain to review the civil defense preparedness in the district. During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner issued necessary instructions to the concerned officers and directed them to remain fully alert in any emergency situation. She stated that detailed orders regarding civil safety have been issued, responsibilities have been assigned to various officials, and continuous reports are being received from sub-divisional magistrates of all sub-divisions in the district. While the situation in Hoshiarpur remains completely normal, general preparedness is still being ensured.
She added that the district administration is maintaining constant coordination with the Air Force and the Army. She also specifically advised that if any person comes across a suspicious or unidentified object in any locality, village, or city, they should not approach or tamper with it. Instead, they should immediately inform the nearest police station or civil authorities so that forensic examination can be carried out and the object can be safely handed over to the Army or Air Force.
She reassured the residents that the situation in the district is completely under control and there is no need to panic. She appealed to the residents to remain alert against misleading rumors and to strictly follow all advisories issued by the government from time to time in public interest. She warned that strict legal action would be taken against anyone found spreading rumors or misinformation.
