15 October 2026 Punjab Khabarnama Bureau : Shares of Reliance Industries and Bharti Airtel rose on Thursday, October 15, 2026, after Jio Platforms announced the price band for its upcoming initial public offering (IPO). The proposed listing has drawn significant attention from investors because it is expected to establish an independent market valuation for one of India’s largest telecom and digital services businesses.
Reliance Industries shares gained around 2.8% during trading, while Bharti Airtel shares were up approximately 3.3% at the time of a Reuters market update. The gains reflected investor interest in the potential implications of Jio Platforms’ IPO for Reliance shareholders and the wider telecommunications sector.
Jio Platforms Announces IPO Price Band
Jio Platforms has fixed its IPO price band at ₹1,065 to ₹1,119 per share. At the upper end, the company could command a valuation of approximately $108 billion, making the proposed offering one of the largest in India’s stock-market history.
The IPO is scheduled to open for subscription on October 21 and close on October 23, 2026. The company plans to offer approximately 270 million shares and raise around ₹30,213 crore, according to published reports.
The listing is expected to provide public-market investors with a direct opportunity to invest in Jio Platforms, which houses Reliance’s telecom and digital services businesses. It will also allow investors to assess Jio’s financial performance and growth prospects separately from Reliance Industries’ other operations.
Why Reliance Industries Shares Are Rising
Reliance Industries is Jio Platforms’ majority owner. A public listing could make the value of Reliance’s stake in Jio more transparent and help investors assess the conglomerate’s different businesses more clearly.
At present, Reliance Industries operates across several sectors, including energy, retail and telecommunications. Investors must consider these businesses together when evaluating the company’s overall market value. A separately listed Jio could provide a clearer benchmark for the value of its digital and telecom operations.
However, the effect on Reliance’s share price will depend on more than Jio’s headline valuation. Investors will also consider Reliance’s remaining businesses, debt, future earnings and the extent to which the market applies a holding-company discount.
