21 September 2026 Punjab Khabarnama Bureau : India continued its strong start in shooting at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 2026, winning silver in the men’s 10m air rifle team event on Monday.
Rudrankksh Patil, Himanshu Dhillon and Parth Mane combined for a total of 1890.1 points, finishing behind China, which won gold with a world-record score of 1899.0 points. South Korea took bronze with 1884.2 points.
Rudrankksh and Himanshu Qualify for Individual Final
The team event also doubled as the qualification round for the individual competition.
Rudrankksh produced 631.8 points to finish third in the individual qualification standings, while Himanshu scored 630.0 points to finish seventh. Both therefore secured places in the individual final.
Parth Mane finished 10th with 628.3 points and missed out on the individual final.
China Sets New World Record
China dominated the team event with a record-breaking performance.
Its 1899.0-point total improved the previous world record by 0.6 points, putting the Chinese trio ahead of India despite the Indian team’s strong showing.
Third Shooting Silver for India
The men’s 10m air rifle silver added another medal to India’s growing shooting haul at the Asian Games.
India had already won silver in the women’s 10m air rifle team event, with Elavenil Valarivan, Sonam Maskar and Vidarsa Vinod finishing second.
Elavenil subsequently added another silver in the women’s individual 10m air rifle competition.
Strong Showing From Rudrankksh
Rudrankksh, a Hangzhou Asian Games gold medallist, was among India’s leading performers in the qualification round.
He finished third individually with 631.8 points, putting himself in contention for another podium finish in the individual final.
Himanshu Also in Medal Contention
Himanshu Dhillon’s seventh-place qualification was enough to take him into the individual final alongside Rudrankksh.
The two Indian shooters therefore entered the final with an opportunity to add individual medals after helping India secure team silver.
India’s Shooting Campaign Gains Momentum
The results underline the strength of India’s shooting contingent at the Aichi-Nagoya Games.
The team had produced a record 22-medal haul at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games, including seven gold, nine silver and six bronze medals.

India’s trio of Rudrankksh Patil, Himanshu Dhillon and Parth Mane delivered the silver-medal performance.

With Rudrankksh and Himanshu both advancing to the individual final, India had two representatives in the medal round of the men’s 10m air rifle event.
The qualification performance also means India’s shooting campaign continues to produce medals across both team and individual competitions.
