Third-Highest Hindi Grosser of 2026

With its latest earnings, Hanuman Ansh has entered the top three highest-grossing Hindi films of 2026.

Reports place the film behind Dhurandhar 2 and Border 2 in the year’s Hindi box-office rankings. Business Standard reported that the film had crossed ₹300 crore worldwide and had earned more than 150 times its reported production budget of under ₹2 crore.

A Remarkable Turnaround at the Box Office

The film’s current performance is particularly notable because its theatrical opening was modest.

Hanuman Ansh began with only around ₹1.08 crore during its first week and collected approximately ₹40 lakh in Week 2. Its fortunes changed dramatically from Week 3, when collections rose to ₹10.40 crore.

The film then recorded ₹61 crore in Week 4 and ₹90.25 crore in Week 5. By Day 42, its sixth-week collection had reached ₹80.25 crore.

Word of Mouth Drives the Film

The film’s unusual box-office trajectory has been attributed to sustained audience interest and word of mouth.

Despite initially receiving a relatively small screen count, Hanuman Ansh gained momentum as audiences continued to recommend the film. Its long theatrical run has allowed it to keep adding substantial collections even after newer releases entered cinemas.

Based on Neem Karoli Baba’s Life

Written and directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, Hanuman Ansh is inspired by the life and teachings of Neem Karoli Baba, popularly known as Maharaj Ji.

The film explores his spiritual journey and devotion to Lord Hanuman. The story is based on Chaturvedi’s book Divine Detour: That Changed My Life.

Sixth Week Continues Strongly

The film’s Week 6 performance has become one of the biggest talking points surrounding its theatrical run.

After collecting ₹10.50 crore on Day 36, the film earned ₹18.50 crore on Day 37 and ₹22.50 crore on Day 38. It then collected ₹8.25 crore each on Days 39 and 40, followed by ₹6 crore on Day 41 and ₹6.25 crore on Day 42.

Budget and Box-Office Contrast

The film’s reported budget of around ₹1.75–2 crore makes its ₹300-crore-plus worldwide gross particularly notable.

Business Standard reported that the film had earned more than 150 times its reported budget, highlighting the scale of its commercial turnaround.

OTT Interest Also Grows

The film’s unexpected theatrical success has also increased interest from streaming platforms.

A recent Indian Express report said that Hanuman Ansh, after initially facing difficulty securing a major streaming release, had received multiple OTT offers following its box-office turnaround.

A Sleeper Success Story

Hanuman Ansh has emerged as an unusual success story in the 2026 Hindi film market.

From a modest opening to more than ₹243 crore in domestic net collections and ₹309 crore worldwide, the film has demonstrated the potential of word-of-mouth-driven theatrical releases.
