17 September 2026 Punjab Khabarnama Bureau : Maaz Sadaqat produced a sensational 112 off 49 balls as the Jamaica Kingsmen stormed past the Barbados Tridents by nine wickets in the Caribbean Premier League 2026 Eliminator, booking their place in Qualifier 2.
Sadaqat’s explosive innings completely transformed the chase at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, with the young left-hander reaching his century from just 44 balls and becoming the youngest centurion in CPL history at 21.
Sadaqat Turns Chase Into a One-Man Show
Chasing 145, Jamaica raced to 79 without loss during the Powerplay, with Sadaqat contributing 65 of those runs.
He reached his half-century from only 22 balls before continuing his assault against both pace and spin. His 112 included nine fours and eight sixes, according to the official CPL report.
Sadaqat eventually fell for 112 in the 14th over, caught off a slower delivery from Daniel Sams. By then, Jamaica required only seven runs to win.
Kingsmen Complete Comfortable Chase
With Kirk McKenzie unbeaten on 22, the Kingsmen completed the chase in just 14.1 overs, reaching 145 for one.
A wide from Kevlon Anderson brought the match to an end, giving Jamaica a nine-wicket victory with 35 balls remaining.
The victory eliminated the Barbados Tridents and sent the Kingsmen into Qualifier 2, where they will face the loser of Qualifier 1 for a place in the CPL final.
Tridents Recover From Early Collapse
Barbados’ innings got off to a disastrous start after the Kingsmen reduced them to 30 for five.
Brandon King, Kevlon Anderson, Zachary Carter, Sadrack Descarte and Sherfane Rutherford all departed early, leaving the Tridents in serious trouble.
The innings was rescued by Quinton de Kock and captain Chris Green, who added 114 runs for the sixth wicket.
De Kock and Green Stage Fightback
De Kock top-scored with 71, while Green remained unbeaten on 57 as the pair rebuilt the innings.
Their partnership helped Barbados reach 144 for six in 20 overs, giving the Tridents a competitive total after their poor start.
However, the total proved far too small once Sadaqat launched his extraordinary assault.
Youngest CPL Centurion
Sadaqat’s century was particularly significant because it made him the youngest player to score a CPL century.
He completed his maiden CPL hundred from 44 deliveries, doubling his 22-ball half-century in the process. His performance also underlined his growing reputation as an explosive top-order batter.
