30 july 2026 Punjab Khabarnama Bureau : Thalapathy Vijay’s farewell film Jana Nayagan continued its successful theatrical run on Day 6, despite witnessing the expected weekday slowdown after a blockbuster opening weekend. The film remains on course to cross the ₹250 crore worldwide milestone.
Day 6 Box Office Performance
On its sixth day, Jana Nayagan collected an estimated ₹8 crore net in India, taking its total India net collection to ₹143.40 crore. The film’s India gross now stands at ₹167.57 crore, while its worldwide gross has reached ₹246.07 crore, putting it just short of the ₹250 crore mark.
Weekday Slowdown Continues
After a record-breaking opening weekend, the Vijay-starrer recorded its biggest decline so far as weekday collections naturally softened. Despite the drop, the film has maintained a strong theatrical presence and continues to rank among the top-performing Tamil releases of the year.
Occupancy Remains Healthy
The Tamil version recorded an overall occupancy of around 25.7% on Day 6, with evening and night shows performing better than morning screenings, reflecting sustained audience interest.
Eyes on ₹250 Crore Worldwide
Trade analysts expect Jana Nayagan to cross the ₹250 crore worldwide milestone shortly if it maintains a steady hold during the remainder of the week. The film continues to benefit from Vijay’s massive fan following and positive word of mouth.
