Ferozepur, April 7, 2025 (Punjab Khabarnama Bureau): Additional District Magistrate Dr. Nidhi Kumud Bambha, PCS, exercising powers under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) 2023, has issued orders imposing various restrictions in Ferozepur district. These orders will remain in effect for two months from the date of issuance.
The Additional District Magistrate has imposed a complete ban on the operation of boats by private individuals in rivers located in the border areas of the district between 7:00 PM and 7:00 AM. She stated that private individuals may use boats in the district’s rivers for drug smuggling from Pakistan. To prevent or handle such situations, it is necessary to strictly prohibit the movement of boats during nighttime hours.
In another order, the Additional District Magistrate has banned the use of drones at various locations within a 25-kilometer radius from the international border in the district, keeping security in mind. She explained that drones can potentially be used to carry out undesirable incidents. Therefore, a ban on the use of drones is essential for security reasons. However, any department or individual seeking to use drones must obtain proper permission through the approved procedure.
Additionally, the ADM has prohibited the use of drones within a 500-meter radius around the jail premises in Ferozepur district, again citing security concerns.
In yet another restriction, the ADM has directed that no individual within the district’s jurisdiction shall leave their animals loose on public roads or in public places. She stated that doing so poses a risk of road accidents and disrupts public movement. Moreover, animals left in open spaces often become uncontrollable, may cause harm to passersby, and can also damage crops.
Similarly, in another order, the ADM has banned the open burning of garbage and waste within the district limits. She mentioned that after cleaning, people tend to burn collected waste, dry leaves, and scrap paper, which pollutes the environment and releases smoke into the air, potentially causing respiratory diseases. Burning garbage near roads also disrupts traffic, poses a risk of conflict, and may result in serious accidents.
Summary: The Additional District Magistrate has issued new orders imposing various restrictions in the district to maintain law and order and ensure public safety.
