Kapurthala February 21 (Punjab Khabarnama Bureau): To prevent fraud and malpractice by unauthorised travel agents, the Kapurthala district administration has issued a dedicated helpline number for the public to lodge complaints.

Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Panchal announced that individuals who have grievances against any travel agent could directly call on helpline number 01822-233777.

Additionally, the Assistant Commissioner (General), Kapurthala, has been appointed as the nodal officer to oversee the complaints. People can also register their complaints at the Chief Minister’s Assistance Centre located in the District Administrative Complex, Kapurthala.

The Deputy Commissioner further stated that 384 travel agents were registered under the Punjab Travel Professional Regulation Act in Kapurthala district. The list of registered agents is available on the official website Kapurthala.nic.in, allowing individuals to verify the registration status of travel agents before availing of their services.

The administration has urged citizens to only engage with authorised and registered travel agents. In case of any fraudulent activities, the public is encouraged to use the helpline number for prompt action.
