Fatehgarh Sahib, 10 January: Mrs. Preetpal Kaur, SDO of the Punjab Pollution Control Board, stated that to check the ban on Chinese doors, the board’s team, led by SDO Sanatpreet Singh and JE Gurpinder Singh, inspected shops in Sirhind Mandi. No Chinese doors were found during the inspection. The shopkeepers and the public were also informed about the harmful effects of these doors.

Mrs. Preetpal Kaur explained that the government has imposed a complete ban on the production, sale, storage, and purchase of Chinese doors due to the numerous accidents caused by them. Plastic doors not only pose a threat to humans but also harm birds when they get trapped in them.

SDO Sanatpreet Singh mentioned that the sale of plastic doors is illegal, and those involved in selling them could face legal action. Selling and using these doors may lead to imprisonment and a fine of up to one lakh rupees.

The inspection team directed shopkeepers engaged in the sale of kites and doors to strictly adhere to the ban on Chinese doors and informed them about the laws and guidelines issued by the government.

The team urged shopkeepers and the public to fully support the awareness campaign run by the Punjab Pollution Control Board to ensure strict compliance with the ban on Chinese doors.
