A stampede near the Ramnayudu School in Tirupati resulted in the deaths of five people, including Malliga (50) from Salem. Relatives of the deceased protested at the hospital.

According to reports, six devotees died and several others were injured in a stampede at the Lord Venkateswara Temple in Tirumala on Wednesday night. The Chief of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) confirmed the incident. The stampede occurred when hundreds of people were trying to get tickets for the Vaikuntha Dwara darshan, which is set to begin on January 10 for a 10-day period. Devotees from across the country have gathered for the darshan.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu spoke to officials over the phone regarding the treatment of the injured. He instructed senior officials to visit the scene and ensure better medical care for the victims. The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister expressed his sorrow over the death of six devotees in the stampede near the Vishnu Nivasam in Tirupati, where people were trying to obtain darshan tokens for the Vaikuntha Dwara.

Earlier, the police reported the death of four people, including three women. A police officer stated, “Three women and one man died in the stampede.” Meanwhile, TTD chief B.R. Naidu confirmed the deaths of six people in the stampede. He added that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu would visit Tirupati on Thursday. Videos of police administering CPR to some female devotees and helping injured individuals into ambulances have been widely circulated on social media.
