Chandigarh, January 5, 2025 (Punjab Khabarnama Bureau): Senior Ayurvedic doctor from Bokaro, Rajesh Pathak (with over 16 years of experience in Patanjali Ayurveda and Shuddhi Ayurveda), stated that Chirchita (also known as Apamarga) is used in traditional medical practices. According to Ayurveda, this plant naturally helps in healing several bodily issues.

Apamarga contains numerous beneficial elements that help in preventing cold, cough, and contagious diseases. In such cases, consuming a decoction of its leaves helps clear a blocked nose and provides quick relief from colds and coughs. Nowadays, yellowing of teeth and bad breath have become common problems. In such situations, using a powder made from Apamarga leaves helps in cleaning teeth and removes yellowing.

Apamarga also helps in resolving kidney stone-related issues. Regular use of this plant keeps the kidneys healthy and functioning well, and the kidney stones are expelled through urine. To address this problem, boiling the bark of Apamarga and consuming it on an empty stomach daily helps in getting rid of kidney stones.

The special properties present in the Apamarga plant are useful in treating skin problems such as itching and other infections. Applying it on the skin provides relief from itching. For this, grinding the leaves of Apamarga and neem and applying them to the affected area helps to get rid of itching. Women often experience significant pain during menstruation, and in such cases, applying the root of Apamarga on the lower back can alleviate itching and help reduce pain, making the delivery process easier.
