Chandigarh, December 9, 2024 (Punjab Khabarnama Bureau)- As the weather changes and the cold increases, traditional home remedies are considered helpful to protect children from the chill. One such remedy involves garlic. Experts suggest that for children who frequently catch colds, garlic cloves should be peeled and strung into a necklace, which can be worn around the child’s neck. Rubbing garlic on the child’s chest regularly will generate warmth, preventing the accumulation of mucus.

For those who avoid eating garlic, sesame oil can be used instead. Warm the oil slightly, add a pinch of salt, and massage it on the child’s chest daily. This will protect the child from the cold, preventing colds and coughs.

Our ancestors used these old home remedies, which Ayurvedic doctor Harsh recommends as well. Speaking to Local 18, Dr. Harsh explained that during the cold season, it is best to prevent illnesses before they take hold. He mentioned that colds typically enter the body through the feet, chest, and ears, and these areas should be kept warm to avoid illness.

For those suffering from frequent colds or with weak immunity, garlic cloves can be peeled, strung on a thread, and worn as a necklace, rubbing it on the child’s chest to prevent mucus buildup. Additionally, sesame oil with salt should be massaged into the child’s chest daily to keep them protected from cold-related illnesses like colds, coughs, and flu.

Summary: This guide suggests simple home remedies to shield young children from cold weather and associated illnesses, helping maintain their health during seasonal changes.
