One of these dangerous diseases is the Marburg virus (a disease that causes bleeding from the eyes). This deadly disease is spreading quickly. According to a report by the Daily Mail, experts have advised travelers to be particularly cautious when visiting countries where these dangerous viruses are prevalent.
The Marburg Virus is one of the deadliest viruses and has already claimed the lives of over 15 people in Rwanda.
- This virus causes hemorrhagic fever, which affects internal organs and blood vessels. Symptoms include bleeding from the eyes, ears, and mouth, fever, and fatigue. Infected individuals can appear in strange ways. There is currently no vaccine for the Marburg virus. It spreads through contact with infected people, contaminated objects, and the bodily fluids of infected wild animals.
Oropouche Virus (known as “Sloth Fever”) is rapidly spreading in South America and the Caribbean countries, particularly in Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, Guyana, Peru, and Panama.
- Symptoms include headaches, muscle pain, joint stiffness, sensitivity to light, and vomiting. The virus can cross the blood-brain barrier and cause encephalitis and even death.
Clade-1 Mpox
- The Clade-1 strain of Mpox is currently found in Rwanda, Burundi, the Central African Republic, Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Gabon, Kenya, and Uganda. Symptoms include fever, body rashes, and weakness. In some cases, it can be fatal.
