Young men often neglect their health, thinking that since they are still young, they are immune to serious illnesses. However, this is a misconception. Today, even individuals aged 15 to 25 are being diagnosed with severe diseases like colon cancer and testicular cancer.

Reports of young men suffering heart attacks are becoming increasingly common, as are cases of sexual health issues. If your body shows signs of any of these conditions, consulting a doctor immediately is crucial. Though these symptoms may seem minor initially, seeking medical advice is wise. Don’t let embarrassment or notions of masculinity prevent you from addressing these issues. Here are five warning signs men should never overlook:

1. Difficulty in Urination

If you experience difficulty urinating, burning sensations, frequent urination, changes in urine color, or blood in the urine, don’t ignore these signs. Although changes in urine color can sometimes be attributed to consuming certain foods, unexplained changes may indicate an infection. Consult a doctor promptly if you notice such symptoms.

2. Excessive Thirst

Just as frequent urination can signal a problem, so can excessive thirst. While it’s normal to drink 2-3 liters of water a day, constantly feeling thirsty despite drinking enough water may indicate hypoglycemia or even diabetes. Early intervention can help manage and treat the condition effectively.

3. Lumps or Moles Near Genital Areas

Testicular cancer is becoming more common among young men. If you notice changes in the color or shape of a mole near the genitals, or if a lump forms in the testicles, it could be a sign of testicular cancer. While most cases don’t turn out to be cancer, even a 1% chance warrants immediate consultation with a doctor.

4. Chest or Shoulder Pain

Dr. Nityanand Tripathi, head of cardiology at Fortis Hospital in New Delhi, notes that cholesterol buildup in arteries is one of the leading causes of heart attacks in young men. He recommends that everyone in their 20s get a lipid profile test once a year.

Unusual chest pain, particularly when accompanied by shoulder pain, excessive sweating, difficulty breathing, or extreme fatigue after light activity, should never be ignored. These symptoms differ from common heartburn or gas and require immediate medical attention.

5. Erectile Dysfunction

Erectile dysfunction is rare before the age of 25, but if you experience it afterward, don’t hesitate to seek help from a qualified doctor. It can indicate underlying issues like kidney failure, diabetes, or neurological disorders. Early diagnosis and treatment can prevent further complications.
