September 23, 2024: Plethysmography Software: The innovative use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare is taking medical science to a new dimension.
A startup named AI-Vote has developed AI-based software that analyzes facial features to provide accurate information about blood pressure, sugar levels, heart rate, hemoglobin, and stress levels. This technology was created by Pradeep Gupta, Managing Director of AI-Vote, and CEO Alok Tiwari.
Features of the Software
On the final day of the Startup Sangam program held at Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT), Pradeep Gupta, an alumnus of the 1983 batch, shared the software’s features.
The software employs Photoplethysmography (PPG) technology, which is capable of measuring blood flow beneath the skin. Gupta explained that the core principle of PPG is that when light shines on the skin, its absorption and reflection change based on the volume of blood present.
When a person focuses their mobile camera on their face for one minute, the software records various health metrics and regularly sends data to a server, accessible by doctors and family members.
In the event of a health-related issue, the software promptly sends a warning message. Initial tests estimate the software’s accuracy at 95%. Several major hospitals have begun using it, helping patients monitor their health regularly.
