9 september 2024 : Jennie of Blackpink has signed a solo artist contract with Columbia Records, while still maintaining her existing partnership with ODDATELIER, her record label and entertainment company. The announcement was made on September 8, and Jennie is set to release a new single in October 2024.
In December 2024, Blackpink members decided to part ways with their longtime label, YG Entertainment, to pursue solo careers, although group activities will continue under YG. Jennie’s solo track “One of the Girls,” featuring The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp, was released in June 2023. The song, which was featured in HBO’s The Idol, has surpassed 1 billion streams on Spotify and earned RIAA Platinum certification. Following this, her single “You and Me” debuted at number one on the Billboard Global Excl. US chart, making Jennie the second Blackpink member to achieve this, after Rosé’s “On the Ground.”
Jennie’s debut solo track, “SOLO,” released in 2018, topped the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart. She also released collaborative songs such as “SPOT!” with ZICO and “Slow Motion” with Matt Champion this year.
Regarding other Blackpink members’ solo ventures, Jisoo released her debut album Me in March 2023, which included popular tracks like “Flower” and “All Eyes on Me.” She has also launched her own record label, Blissoo. Lisa released her first solo work since the split, “Rockstar,” in June 2024, and also started her own label, LLOUD. Rosé’s debut single album R was released in March 2021.
