9 september 2024 : Samajwadi Party chief and Lok Sabha MP Akhilesh Yadav took a swipe at Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday, dismissing his remarks as coming from “someone on his way out.”
Yadav criticized the state’s law and order situation, pointing out that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government frequently faces judicial criticism. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Yadav said, “Why should we be concerned about comments from someone who is on their way out? Those who have no influence within their own party will not be heeded.”
Yadav’s comments followed Adityanath’s criticism of him at a public rally, where the Chief Minister accused Yadav and the Samajwadi Party of trying to incite chaos and undermining development and safety. Adityanath also addressed the police encounter of Mangesh Yadav, who was allegedly involved in a robbery, suggesting that the Samajwadi Party was unhappy with the encounter.
Yadav had previously alleged that Mangesh Yadav’s encounter was staged and criticized the current government for issues such as police corruption and the replacement of legal codes with arbitrary measures. Yadav concluded by suggesting that those who frequently face court rebukes should keep quiet.
