A study in Sweden found that tattoos may increase the risk of blood cancer. This can lead to a 21 percent risk of developing lymphoma. According to Medical News Today, researchers at Sweden’s Lind University found that tattoos may also increase the risk of cancer. Researchers analyzed the Swedish National Cancer Register for 10 years from 2007 to 2017.
It included people in the age group of 20 to 60 years. The study found that people with tattoos had a 21 percent higher risk of lymphoma than those without tattoos. Also, people who got a tattoo in the past two years had an 81 percent higher risk of lymphoma.
According to the researchers, it is important to understand what ink is being used to create the tattoo, that is, what chemicals it contains, which may increase the risk of lymphoma. However, it is not entirely clear whether there is a connection between the two.
