April 24 (Punjab Khabarnama) : Deputy Commissioner Rupnagar Dr. Preeti Yadav congratulated Punjab’s youngest child mountaineer Tegbir Singh who reached Mt Everest base camp at the age of five and wished him all the best for achieving more achievements in the future.

Talking on this occasion Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav said that Tegbir Singh, a child studying in the first class in Shivalik Public School, has climbed Mount Everest Base Camp at the age of 5. He started the trek to Everest Base Camp on April 9 and walked the entire distance to reach it on April 17.

He said that the Everest base camp is located at a height of 5364 meters where the normal temperature in April is minus 12. This is a low oxygen track and preparation is needed to deal with altitude sickness. On this occasion, Tegbir’s parents gave information and said that Tegbir had started its preparation about one and a half years ago.

Deputy Commissioner Rupnagar Dr. Preeti Yadav said that the child Tegbir Singh, who has made a big achievement at such a young age, has brightened the name of himself, his parents, coach, district and entire Punjab.

On this occasion Assistant Commissioner (J) S. Arvindarpal Singh Somal, Principal Shivalik School Mr. Baljit Attri, Father S. Sukhinder Singh, Mother Dr. Manpreet Kaur was also present.
