IPL Live Score 2024 RCB vs SRH, Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Sunrisers Hyderabad: Hoping for resurgence, Royal Challengers Bangalore take on Sunrisers Hyderabad in their upcoming IPL 2024 fixture, in Bengaluru on Monday. RCB are currently bottom in the ten-team table, with two points in six matches. To make matters worse, they are also in a four-match losing streak which could turn into five. SRH, on the other hand, are fourth in the standings with six points in five games. They are unbeaten in their previous two matches and a win would help them cement their position in the playoff race.

RCB have taken the least wickets this season, 25, but they share it with SRH, who have a game in hand. RCB have been in dire straits in the batting department too, something which SRH have flourished in. After RCB’s defeat against Mumbai Indians, captain Faf du Plessis said, “We have to push for that 200. We don’t have as many weapons in our bowling. So it comes down to the batting. From a bowling perspective, we have lacked penetration. We have to get them two or three down in the powerplay. Always feels like we are on the back foot after the first four overs.”

It has also been utter chaos for RCB, who have used 19 players so far, benching their two-most expensive auction signings, Cameron Green and Alzarri Joseph. Virat Kohli has been their only positive, with the former skipper leading the Orange Cap race with 319 runs in six games. Despite his runs, Kohli’s strike rate has been a point of criticism for some fans and experts. Speaking on that issue, RCB’s director of cricket MObobat said, “The point about Virat [and his strike rate] seems to get a lot of media and air time in India. Among all the openers playing in the competition, he’s scored more runs than most of them. He’s also offering a pretty healthy strike rate. So I’m not spending too much time worrying about the way Virat’s batting, because he’s doing really well.”

SRH boast a batting department consisting of Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Aiden Markram and Heinrich Klaasen. Meanwhile, Abdul Samad and Pat Cummins also give options lower down the order. This season, they posted 277, which is the highest-ever IPL total in history, beating RCB’s 263. They are also the second-quickest scoring team in IPL 2024. With RCB’s third-worst economy rate, SRH will be eyeing some epic destruction!

SRH have won only two of their eight fixtures at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, and have the worst win percentage among all IPL sides at the venue. That could be an advantage for RCB. On playing at the venue, SRH head coach Daniel Vettori said, “So I think you have to keep challenging yourself to try to take wickets because any team can score that 60-70 at the back-end, in the last four or five overs. So I think no score is safe. And you always feel you’re in the game, particularly when you’re chasing. I think most teams will come here and try to chase because they feel it’s easier to navigate the innings when you know what’s in front of you.”
