In this regard, National Deworming Day was celebrated on 05th February 2024 in various educational institutions and Anganwadi Centers in the district on which day Albindazole tablets were administered to children from 1 year to 19 years to eliminate deworming. were _ After identifying the children who were deprived of these pills on that day, Albindazole tablets were given to the children today on Mop Up Day, in this regard Dr. Bandana Bansal District Immunization Officer visited Skarari Middle School Kanal Colony Sri Muktsar Sahib. Albindazole tablets were fed with their hands to the children who were deprived of taking tablets .
Giving information on this occasion, Dr. Bandana Bansal said that the National Day of Elimination of Stomach Worms is celebrated twice a year by the Health Department with the support of other departments . Albindazole tablets (chewable tablet) were fed to all government schools , private schools , polytechnic colleges , IELTS centers and Anganwadi centers and out-of-school children between 1 and 19 years of age in District Sri Muktsar Sahib on this day . It was known that 189872 children were given these tablets on that day, the remaining children have been identified and according to the instructions issued by the government, Albindazole tablets have been given to the children today on Mop Up Day .
He said that it is necessary for children to eat these pills so that children can be protected from the harm caused by stomach worms .
On this occasion, Sukhmander Singh District Mass Media Officer said that due to worms in the child’s stomach, the child suffers from anemia , loss of appetite , malnutrition , mental and intellectual weakness , fatigue , restlessness , stomach pain , nausea , irritability , vomiting and diarrhea. Or bleeding in the latrine may be the symptom and the child feels weak and tired day by day . Therefore, the government gives Albindazole tablets twice a year (with a gap of six months) to children to eliminate stomach worms . It is very important for every child to take this pill so that the health of children can be improved .
He said that to avoid stomach worms, we should wash our hands with soap or liquid before eating , before serving food and after going to the toilet , avoid going to the toilet in the open , always drink clean water. , should not be barefoot , food should be covered and surroundings should be kept clean . We should eat Albendazole tablets without any fear , fear , false rumors or wrong rumours .
