Patiala, February 12 (Punjab khabarnama) : According to the directions of the District Election Officer, Patiala, a special camp was organized by the Sweep Team Patiala for the strengthening of democracy in the village Basantpura (Rajpura) with the support of self-help groups to educate the voters in the nearby villages.
During the event, District Sweep Nodal Officer Prof. Savinder Rekhi gave information about online and offline registration of votes and encouraged eligible voters who are going to be 18 years old about advance registration. Self-help groups were urged to make special efforts for 100 percent participation in their villages in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and to make votes of every eligible voter and contribute to the voter awareness campaign by going door-to-door.
On this occasion, a street play prepared by Sweep Patiala was also presented. Nodal Officer Sweep also administered voter’s pledge to the voters of the village to participate in the elections. On this occasion, the social worker of the city, Mr. Pawan Goyal, also appealed to the self-help groups to contribute to the sweep campaign. During this event, the members of Unnati Group, Guru Ravidas, Charddikala, Radha Sam, Simran, Waheguru, Sivaskati, Baba Ajit Singh groups and Nidhi, Reena Chhabra along with Assistant Nodal Officers of Sweep Team Mr. Mohit Kaushal and Avtar Singh. Also participated in the event.
