Deputy Commissioner Dr. Senu Duggal held a meeting with the existing officials and the officials connected through online medium regarding the activities being done for the prevention of drugs and to speed it up in the future. He said that with the unity of all departments, drug addiction can be eradicated.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner said that maximum number of meetings should be held by the police and BSF with the Village Defense Committees formed in the villages to prevent drug trafficking. He said that besides doing awareness activities against drugs, more speed should be brought in the actions. He said that there was a discussion regarding taking more strict measures against drug traffickers to put a stop to drugs.
He asked the officials of all the departments to motivate the people in their respective areas about the ill effects of drugs and organize more awareness seminars so that the children as well as the youth stay away from it. He said that children should be informed about its side effects. He said that the young generation should be involved in sports to save them from going into this quagmire. He said that special attention should be kept on the border area so that no kind of drug smuggling can take place.
The Deputy Commissioner told the officials that all the departments have to work with each other to eradicate evils like drugs and with mutual cooperation our future can be saved from it.
On this occasion DSP Karan, Deputy DEO Madam Anju Sethi from Education Department, Dr. Apart from Pikakshi, Vijay Pal, officials from various departments were present.
