Department of Education organized a program under district level speech and poster competition at Govt Senior Secondary School Kodaswali under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao in which Deputy Commissioner Dr. Senu Duggal participated in the program.
Speaking during the program, the Deputy Commissioner said that nothing is possible in the world without daughters. He said that a mother who gives birth to a child is also a daughter and only after that the journey of the world begins. He said that in today’s age there is no difference between a boy and a girl. He said that girls are also reaching great places as much as boys. He said that we should also give full respect to girls/daughters.
The Deputy Commissioner encouraged the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Abhiyaan and said that even if we have daughters we should be as happy as if we are sons. Apart from this, girls should also be provided with opportunities for education, so that girls too can shine on their name, their parents, their able relatives while getting higher positions. He said that there is a need to give freedom to girls so that they too can shine their future in a better way.
He said that eliminating the difference between boys and girls should give priority to the right to equality. He said that equal rights should be the main focus and contribute to the achievement of a prosperous Punjab. On this occasion, he inspired the female students to apply the good habits of cleanliness, eating good food, following road safety rules etc. and also to make others aware.
Baljit Kaur of Government High School Asafwala won the first place, Priyanka of Government Girls Senior Secondary School Abohar won the second place and Nakita Devi of Government School Lalowali got the third place in the speech competitions. Similarly, in the poster competition, Sahil of Government School Khooi Khera won the first place, Prerna of Government Girls Senior Secondary School Abohar won the second place and Nishu Kumari of Government Senior Secondary School Nihal Khera won the third place. Encouragement prizes were given to Manish of Government School Khooi Khera and Lavalina of Ghallu.
On this occasion, Deputy DEO Pankaj Angi and Anju Sethi, Principal Rajeev Makkar, Madam Smriti Kataria and Navjit Kaur, Satinder Batra from Education Department, Jyoti Sharma, Nodal Incharge Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Abhiyan Ankur Sharma and Satinder Schedwa were present.
