Ferozepur 30 January 2024 (Punjab Khabarnama) : Civil surgeon in charge Dr. Dr. under the direction of Meenakshi . Led by Naveen Sethi (Dermatologist ) . At the district level , Touch Leprosy Awareness Campaign is being conducted from 30th January 2024 to 13th February 2024 . On the occasion of the Sacrifice Day of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, the entire staff took an oath regarding leprosy.
On this occasion Dr. Naveen Sethi, giving information about leprosy, said that if there are light copper-colored numb marks on the skin , on which no hot-cold temperature is detected, then it can be leprosy . When such symptoms occur , immediately go to the nearest hospital and get examined by a dermatologist so that the disease can be detected and treated on time and the ugliness (disability) caused by this disease can be avoided. He said that leprosy is curable and free treatment is available at all government health centers.
Deputy Mass Media Officer Sandeep said that various awareness activities will be conducted during this campaign. Asha worker will go from house to house to educate about the symptoms , prevention and treatment of leprosy . He said that treatment of leprosy is possible. He said that no discrimination should be done on sitting, eating and walking with a leprosy patient .
On this occasion, Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr. Sushma Thakkar , Superintendent Paramveer Moga , P. A. _ Vikas Kalra , Account Officer Sanjeev Bahl and Vipan Sharma and other staff were present .
