Mann Government’s Anti-Corruption Drive: Zero Tolerance for Corruption in Punjab
Since coming to power in March 2022, the Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has taken decisive steps to combat corruption throughout the state. A cornerstone of this initiative is the launch of the Anti-Corruption Helpline, designed to provide citizens with a secure and accessible platform to report corruption without fear.
The helpline can be reached at 9501 200 200, along with a toll-free number, 1800-1800-1000, allowing residents to report instances of bribery or corruption by submitting audio or video evidence. The Punjab Government has assured the public that all complaints will be treated confidentially, encouraging citizens to actively participate in the movement toward a corruption-free Punjab.
This drive has already led to significant results, with 724 arrests made under the anti-corruption campaign since its inception. The Vigilance Bureau has been instrumental in apprehending corrupt officials, reflecting the Punjab Government’s unwavering commitment to tackling corruption and ensuring that those found guilty face swift justice.
The Punjab Government is not only focused on enforcing anti-corruption measures but is also actively raising awareness about corruption prevention. It is organising regular seminars and workshops throughout the state to educate citizens about their rights and ways they can contribute to the movement against corruption. This initiative aims to foster a culture of transparency and accountability, with the goal of making corruption a relic of the past.
The Anti-Corruption Helpline has emerged as a crucial tool in the Punjab Government’s governance strategy, empowering citizens to play an active role. By encouraging the public to report corrupt activities, the Mann Government is committed to ensuring that Punjab progresses towards good governance, fairness, and justice for all.
