Punjab Secures ₹86,000 Crore Investment Under CM Bhagwant Mann’s Leadership

Boosting Industry and Creating Jobs – Key Investment Proposals and Business-Friendly Policies
In a major boost to Punjab’s industrial sector, Industry and Commerce Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond announced that the state has attracted investments worth ₹86,541 crore since March 2022 under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. These investments have created employment opportunities for nearly 3,92,540 individuals.
Sond shared that over 5,300 investment proposals have been received during this period, with substantial contributions from major companies such as Tata Steel Limited (₹2,600 crore), Sanathan Polycoat Private Limited (₹1,600 crore), Ambuja Cements Limited (₹1,400 crore), and Nestle India Limited (₹583 crore), among others.
Highlighting Punjab’s business-friendly environment, Sond assured entrepreneurs of complete government support, emphasizing streamlined processes for small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Businesses can begin operations with a simple affidavit while completing documentation within three years.
He also pointed out the efficiency of Punjab’s “Invest Punjab” portal, ranked first among 28 states, which has facilitated the registration of nearly 58,000 new SMEs—a milestone achievement.
Sond, who has been actively engaging with business leaders, industrial chambers, and associations, stated that their input would shape upcoming policies and schemes. He expressed confidence in the state’s continued industrial growth, inviting more national and international investors to set up businesses in Punjab.
“Punjab offers a peaceful, conducive environment for investment. With our progressive policies and robust support, we aim to make Punjab a hub of industrial activity,” Sond said.
